Detroit Emergency Medical Services Association is a closed labor organization formed to meet the needs of Detroit Emergency Medical Services Personnel and promote the field of Emergency Medical Services. D.E.M.S.A. provides all labor related services, from negotiations, grievance processing, arbitration and legal representation to Act 312 arbitration’s. The concerns of our members are of paramount concern to DEMSA, and it is your right to be part of the process. DEMSA values participation and education relative to our field specifically, as well as, the labor movement.
The promotion of an adequate public safety infrastructure in the City of Detroit furthers the commitment of the Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians of the Detroit Fire Department EMS Division to our community. A priority in our mission statement is to protect the safety of the citizens and visitors of the City of Detroit, as well as, protect the health of our population and positive patient care outcomes. Our members are all employees of the City of Detroit; therefore we have a vested interest in the municipal infrastructure of public safety services, as well as, all city services. The essential services we provide are critical to the health and safety of the citizens of our city. Our commitment to provide this service efficiently and effectively is a fundamental principle our membership takes seriously.
